Welcome to my Blog – All Things Carmen & Life.
My name is Carmen Ledesma, and I’m a woman in long-term recovery, a Peer Recovery Support Specialist, a Recovery Coach, and a Cannabis Educator in training.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Communication and a Master of Arts in New Media Journalism. I’m also a proud grandmother to three beautiful granddaughters, a mother to two grown sons, and—like many of you—someone who carries multiple roles, identities, and lived experiences that shape how I move through the world.
For over eight years, I ran my own writing platform, covering up-and-coming artists and telling stories that lived just beneath the surface. Then life shifted—hard. What came next was an unexpected, life-changing calling: being of service on the frontlines of addiction, recovery, and mental health.
This work pulled back the curtain on systems most people never get to see—the healthcare system, funding pipelines, patient recruitment, and the revolving door of treatment spaces. I’ve witnessed both the harm and the hope. And I’m here to smash the stigma surrounding addiction, mental health, and recovery—loudly, honestly, and without apology.
This channel exists to debunk myths and share grounded, accessible information for those exploring holistic and alternative approaches to healing. We are living in a time where people finally have options—where we can make more informed, intentional choices about what we put into our bodies. Not all medicine is bad. Some medicine saves lives. And we also now have growing evidence-based alternatives, including medications and plant-based approaches used to support opioid misuse disorder and overall well-being.
This space is for anyone who has had to fight broken systems and fractured communities just to exist. If that’s you, take a breath—you’re in the right place.
Here, I’ll help you learn how to move through spaces with more ease, confidence, and self-trust. We operate from the belief that life is happening for you, not to you.
If you’re seeking validation.
If you’re craving permission to heal on your own terms.
If you’re done compromising yourself to fit into environments that feel unsafe, overwhelming, or triggering—
You belong here.
We are no longer conforming just to keep others comfortable.
We are no longer shrinking, silencing, or cowering.
We are moving from existing to living—because we deserve it, we owe it to ourselves, and we honor those who came before us.
Welcome to a platform where we say the quiet parts out loud—and finally start telling the truth.
